Meet the Assistant Principal

Alison Danner, Assistant Principal
Alison Danner

I have had the honor of teaching at West Fannin Elementary the past 14 years and am humbled to serve as Assistant Principal. I attended West Fannin Elementary when it was a junior high and graduated from Fannin County High School in 1993. I then attended Cleveland State Community College, where I received my Associate of Science Degree. In 1997, I received my Bachelor of Science in Human Service Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and immediately began working as a case manager for the Department of Family and Children Services. I quickly realized this was not my true calling or passion, so I pursued my teacher certification from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. From 1999 - 2002, I taught Kindergarten at Ducktown Elementary in Ducktown, Tennessee. In 2002, I was fortunate enough to acquire a 1st grade position and become a part of the West Fannin family. While at West Fannin, I have taught Kindergarten for 5 years, 3rd grade for 3 years, 4th grade for 5 years, and had the honor of serving on the School Governance team for the past two years. Over the past 14 years, I have continued my education by obtaining my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia, my Educational Specialist in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, and most recently completed my Gifted Endorsement.

My husband, Darren Danner, is Assistant Principal at Fannin County High School. We have one son, Hayden, who will be in 7th grade at Fannin County Middle School. As a family, we enjoy Hayden playing baseball and basketball, participating in CrossFit classes, and most of all watching Tennessee Volunteer football.
